The Democratic presidential primary will be over soon. Eventually, New York Senator Hillary Clinton, will have to concede the Democratic party nomination fight to Barrack Obama. The polls in Pennsylvania continue to show a very slight lead for the former First Lady. However, in North Carolina public opinion polls indicate a huge lead for Barack Obama. If the polls are correct then it will probably be after the North Carolina primary that the campaign of Hillary Clinton accepts its now inevitable end. The moment Hillary Clinton withdraws from the 2008 Presidential campaign, the Iraq war will begin to dominate the general election debate between John McCain and Barack Obama. A preview of what will become the defining issue of the 2008 Presidential election campaign could be seen this week in the Senate during the questioning of General David Petraeus by both candidates. Each candidate's questioning of General Petraeus highlighted the differences on the Iraq issue between the two men. McCain's questions were concerned with military tactics for success while Obama was clearly looking for a strategy for a complete military withdrawal. Recommend this article... |

Children are facing the perils of obesity at an alarming rate with 17% of kids between the ages of 6 to 19 being overweight or obese, according to research. Unfortunately, a lot of these overweight kids are victims of a lack of balanced home prepared meals due to the busy lifestyles of parents, whom are probably not eating wisely themselves. Fast food style restaurants are more concerned with their bottom line rather than feeding the consumer with an inexpensive, healthy, low calorie tasty meal. Kids and parents keep going back for more since it fills you up, taste good and it's affordable. The poor are really in the grips of fast food eating, since you can fill up on belly, butt and thigh busting foods for under $5.00. Eating fish or salads at these chains is one way to avoid a consistant bad diet. Recommend this article... |

More than 130 million households will begin receiving economic stimulus payments beginning in May, and there is still a lot of confusion about them. People are not sure when they should receive their payments, the amount they can expect, or if they are even eligible. The information in this article should clarify things for the majority of you and, for those that still have questions, full details are available at the IRS website. The following link will take you directly to the page: Economic Stimulus Payments Information Center. To Be Eligible: • You must have a valid Social Security Number (SSN). If you are filing jointly, BOTH parties must have valid Social Security Numbers or neither will receive a payment. Neither party can use an Individual Taxpayer ID Number (ITIN) in place of an SSN. Individuals that become eligible after they file their taxes can file an amended tax return after April 14, 2008 and after 8-12 weeks can inquire about their payment. Recommend this article... |
